The client's rear garden fell 2.5 metres across 12 metres. Three contractors walked away. Standard excavation was impossible without destabilising the boundary wall.
We designed a split-level terrace: retained lower pool deck, stepped limestone walls doubling as seating, and a concealed drainage channel to manage run-off. MEP routed through the retaining structure.
A freeform pool that uses the slope as a design feature — completed in 48 days.
The client had an established garden — mature palms, an irrigation grid, an existing boundary wall — and wanted a pool added without losing the planting or disturbing the exterior finish.
We mapped the existing irrigation runs and re-routed before excavation. Palms were root-balled and temporarily relocated, then replanted to the new pool surround layout after the shell cured.
Pool installed, all mature trees preserved, replanting completed. Client's garden looked intentional, not disrupted.
The client had been quoted by four separate contractors — a pool company, a landscaper, a pergola fabricator and a plumber. Four contracts, four timelines, four points of failure.
